Monster Squeeze!!

Can I just tell y'all that I have been absolutely lazy and useless this entire weekend and I have loved every minute of it!!!  I honestly have done nothing school, blog or TPT related until right now!  I must agree with my sweet friend Amanda and say that after recent events, so much has been put into perspective as far as family and friends go.  Spending time with them and enjoying every minute I have with them is what matters most!!  Speaking of family...my oober sweet sister-n-law (my hubby's sister) got engaged this past week!!  I am over the moon excited for her and can't wait to get some weeding planning started!!!  And to top off this weekend, we opened the local paper this morning to find out that Mr. Hubby received co-coach of the year!!!  Friends...he is simply an amazing coach and I could not be more proud of him!!

This post is going to be short and sweet as I am going to take my own advice and spend one last evening with my love before the hustle and bustle of the week begins!

Monster Squeeze...
 (I may or may not have posted about this a while back!)

My little darlin's absolutely love this game!  They beg me everyday to play it and it is perfect for teaching greater than and less than.  This is a game that is in our Everyday Math program which can be played whole group or with partners.  We usually play it at the end of the day or whenever we have a few extra minutes to spare!  One student is chosen as a leader who thinks of a mystery number.  Two students are chosen to be the "monster movers" using the class number line.
The leader will begin by saying something similar to "I am thinking of a number between 60 and 80.  What's my number?"  One child will cover the number 60 with their monster while the other child covers the number 80.  The remainder of the class begins making guesses as to what the mystery number could be.  After a student guesses, the leader will tell them whether the number is less than or greater than their guess and the monster movers must more there monsters to squeeze accordingly until the mystery number has been "squeezed" between the two monsters.

Clear as mud?!

How do you teach your kiddo's greater than/less than?!

Happy {Late} Blogger and TPT Birthday to Me and an Update!

Goodness gracious!  I can't believe that I
1. have already kept up with my New Year's Resolution of blogging once a week and
2. that I completely forgot to celebrate my one year TPT and blogger-versary!

{Graphics:  Melon Headz}

I can not begin to express to y'all just how grateful I am to each and every one of you!  This process has far surpassed any expectation I ever had!  I have not only been able to bring in some extra income for a certain little "family" project but I have also met some of the best friends a girl could ask for!  Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support, encouragement and love that you have showed me over the past year!!  God has truly blessed me with this new adventure!!

This is going to be a short post... unfortunately the hubby and I have to head over to the hospital to visit with his Grandpa who is not doing too well.  We would love all the prayers we can get for healing for PawPaw and comfort for our family!

I have been an updating fool lately!  I wasn't pleased with the design of my first few units so I did a little "facelift" to a few of them!  First up was my first little baby...my personal narrative unit!  It has by far been my best seller!  Check out my new and improved friend!  I have also added in a few student examples to help guide your instruction!!

This unit includes...
...Lesson plans for writing a beginning, middle and ending
...Posters that define personal narratives, sound words, transition words and feeling words
...A Memory Map
...A pre-writing graphic organizer
...Rough draft and final draft writing paper
...Word Bank Posters
...A peer editing form
...A friend editing form
...An editing poster
...Student examples

{The following two units just had a few updates...nothing major but little things that were bothering me!}

Next up, I revamped my Teacher Planner which has been an absolute life saver for me this year!  This may be by far my favorite pack that I have made!  The best part is that it is {almost} completely editable!

My last update is my student teacher pack "From Student to Teacher".  I made this pack last year when I was getting my very first student teacher.  I wanted her to feel welcomed and prepared and she absolutely loved having a binder filled with goodies to help her out!

If you'd like a copy of one of my units above, leave a comment below with your email and the unit you would like!  The first five comments will receive the unit of their choice for free!

Have a blessed Sunday sweet teacher friends!!
